Creativity
Thought I would have a day of mainly doing creative things. It has been ages since I have been able to do so. I have started some fabric paper, machined embroidered the silk tops that I previously embellished onto some felt. I've also started of the base for a collage. All very enjoyable; but not for my arms which are rebelling. I just hope that the physio I am going to have next week helps.

Art in Action
I went to Art in Action at the weekend. So many lovely things to see, though not quite as fantastic as last year. In the textile marquee there were several, new to me, textile artists. The main attraction was Sandra Meech, it was very hard to get to see her work. Link here http://www.sandrameech.com/ It is the copying of imamges and chopping up and creating new pieces that I really like about her work.

Embellised Mini Quilt
Backing fabric. I used curtain interlining.

The wool tops laid out prior to embellishing
Half the piece has been embellished in this piece.

The base completely embellished. I then added some pink and ornage wool to the quilt.

The reverse of the completed quilt.

The finishhed item prior to some further embellishment with had stitching and possibly seed beads.

More Embellishing
I am hooked on this process now. I need to do some more samples and then work out how I can incorporate it into something useful.

Embellishing
Embellishing, yes, a word that I tend to use rather too often. My machine has been sitting there waiting for me to have some inspiration. I had thought that I would use the machine much more than I have as I tend to work with snippets of fabric. This is a peice that I put together recently.

Machine Embroidered Fabric
I often come back to creating something new from snippets of other materials. This can be fabric or papers. This piece has mainly silk with organza and for the first time I have used wire mesh.

Handmade Felt and Fabric Paper
This is some hand made felt that has been painted with acrylic paint. I have used some of this for cards.

I have embellished the fabric paper with some hand stitching. I also used some lime green mesh.

Fabric Paper
This fabric paper has been created using a colourful paper napkin on muslin with strips of painted printed text all held together with acrylic medium. I have added some strips of fabric and will now machine and hand stitch into it.

This is the same piece with the colours changed by the camera.
