Embellishing
I feel that any work that I do on the embellishing machine should be called three needles as that seems to be the number that I manage to break each time I use it. I went to the local woollen mill recently and got some lovely soft wool fabric which I have used as the backing for these brooches and pendants.

Medieval French Cuff
I printed some text for an old book about medieval french that I had previously painted with with watercolour paints onto calico. Using silk paper encrusted with Angelina fibres© which I over stitched with machine embroidery and added wire mesh. The back is a rich lime green velvet.

Paper, Paint, Fabric, Wire and Stitch
This is one half of of a painted paper towel, which I photographed and then printed onto cotton.

Using a band of the printed cotton I attached some of the silk paper from last week with machine embroidery and wire mesh.

The finished piece just suggested a cuff, I have not made one before.

Papaver and Moonlight in Wychwood Forest Brooches
Using spaced dyed wool felt I embellished some mohair wool into the centre. Machine stitched and added seed beads to the centre.

I was brought up near the ancient forest of Wychwood and it has always been a magical place to me. When I made this brooch, it just reminded me of being there and seeing the different seasons. The fly stitches are just leading one into the forest.

Silk Paper
I spent a very happy day yesterday making silk paper with some additions. I now need to think what I would like to do with it all. I just love looking at all the wonderful colours, not very modest I know.
To day I have acquired some more old books and have been painting pages with water colour paints and then I thought what about printing this onto photographic paper for using as mixed media cards............well that is for another day.

Art Day
I meet up with friends from my C&G course about once a month for what I call an "Art" day. We sew, talk, go to exhibitions or do a one off making session, such as felt, silk paper or fabric paper. Also set challenges, though I seem to be the one who enjoys this the most. Today just two of us met up to work on something that we are currently making. Panic set in at 10am as I had not got anything to take. So I just machined a few bits of fabric to a back cloth of heavy cotton and took threads, silk snippets and beads and managed to make the fronts for three more brooches.
These are the finished, well almost finished brooches.

Pendants and Hearts
Yes, more hearts as pendants. I have been making a few square ones, yet to be photgraphed. I hav ehad such fun making these, I guess it's my love of embellishing things and being able to use so many colours.
