New Year New Project

After setting myself the challenge to make[or try to make] a heart a week last year I have decided that this year I am going to make a notebook a week. Here is a tiny one that I made two years ago, it is 2 inches by 1 inch.

I was very lucky to win the fabric pack that Jill of Third Age Musings offered in her recent giveaway. Thank you so much, I shall enjoy making a notebook from some of the contents.

Talking of being lucky for Christmas my niece gave me the Cas Holmes book and my sister some lovely vintage lace.

I am not a knitter but somehow last summer I got some wool, needles and a pattern for socks. It took me quite a while to make them but I do feel a sense of achievement and here they are. They are too big! next time I will see if I can make some to fit.

Finally here is the first notebook. It has been made with some fabric that was given to me recently. The flower has been part made for moths using some of my own fabric and the rest along with the wool from Cameron. There are three signatures of plain watercolour paper inside.

Wishing you all a very healthy, happy and creative year.

P.S. When I say make a notebook a week, I should have said that this might include decorating one.

Love your tiny notebook. This is a really challenging challenge! I would find knitting socks impossible so full of admiration! So glad the package arrived, we seemed to have had a lot of missing/delayed post, and I look forward to a bit turning up in one of your projects.
Very best for the new year, Jill

Your socks came out great! Pretty intricate pattern for a beginner....a tiny notebook, what a good idea. I am sure you will have some inventive ones to offer over the coarse of the year. That Cas Holmes books is wonderful, she is so free and inventive with her work, it's amazing. YOu will enjoy reading and re-reading I am sure and you could see her work in person, that would be amazing. xox Corrine

That first tiny book is delightful, I love the colors in it and the beads and fibers, oh I just love it!
Great package you won, I look forward to seeing what you create from that.
That book looks interesting. I'm going to look at it now on amazon, I'm working up an order to get free shipping.
I know you saw the beautiful lace on Camerons blog too, I think your niece must know you well.
The socks, they are wonderful looking, Ilove the colors. too bad they don't fit, perhaps you can stitch a felt bottom to them and wear them as slippers?
I don't see a photo for your first notebook.

Now I see your first notebook of the year. Love those colors. You are smart to give yourself this challenge and to post it here for everyone to keep tabs on. I seem to be all over the place in my art, I need to get better focused.

Stay warm! I know your feets are.

Oh this will be a great project! Note books are lovely but covered notebooks are even better but Heloise Covered Notebooks! Sensational! lol
Have you tried shrinking your socks a bit in a hot wash or the tumble drier? The wool you have used is really gorgeous.

Sue, I love your little books, you have such a special touch. I have not been able to master that "vintage look" that you are able to get. Hugs for you my friend.

Thank you, for both your comments! I'm struggling to finish this weeks collage but I'll get there in the end. I guess it's important we don't give up if we're 'late', just do it anyway.
